2006
went to genting from 11th to 13th. quite okay, got a few brusies playing that 360degree superman thingo. then went for cca camp! was quite fun and made me think more about our ensemble and my way of teaching the juniors. feeling quite confused at the moment. not only about cca, but my life in general. and made me start reflecting on the happenings this year. shall post before i forget=D
2006.
a new school life in a new classroom, new classmates, new teachers. i was quite apprehensive at first, about my class, with all the 'sporty' people and hardly anyone i knew. but we turned out alright i guess, with obs and everthing=)
CCA: yibing and jodie had left, and it was only elaine me sipei and edwyna, but in came two juniors. i learnt alot from my two sec one juniors this year. it made me aware of how lucky i am to be blessed with the musical background i had before learning the bass. seen them through many ups and downs this year, but as the year draws to a close, i really hope that they take away something useful, and enter the new year with an positive mindset. and i must not forget our various concerts this year, the family concert at the esplanade and our very own in VCH, they were a great experience, once in a lifetime opportunities and bonded us as a section and a ensemble together. the august concert was the most meaningful- it was the last concert for our seniors, and after that us, the new exco, took over. honestly speaking i never knew there were so many things involved in running the cca, and this new insight exposed me to the different sides of things, whether pleasant or otherwise. even so, cca was, and still remains, my first love=)
Council: starting with our investiture, and going through many ups and downs, through p6 camp and june camp, teachers day and more, i finally understood what the seniors mean by being busy and the plummeting of grades. it's difficult for me to say exactly how i feel about council, but this has been a meaningful journey and i look forward to what comes ahead. jiayou batchmates!
What other things. oh. finally passing my grade 8, i am really proud of this. though i didnt score flying colours, i was relieved that it's over and now i can concentrate on playing pieces i like instead of preparing for that cert. and bass, grade6 distinction. honestly i was disappointed with my results, it is good enough, but i felt i could have done better. maybe its just my pride. but anyway i wont be taking exams for bass anymore, so this is my highest qualification. must be proud of it=D
academic wise, this year wasnt a good year. the jump from sec2 to sec3 is really quite large. for all the tests and exams this year i must have studied more than the amount i studied from primary school to sec 2 combined together. there were just too many distractions this year i guess, but then again i must blame myself for not being timeconcious enough. must change and work hard for the coming year though, o lvls are coming. i really cant imagine studying everyday and not having cca or other stuff. i might die i think. but too bad. i read some horoscope thingy about my grades next year. apparently its good. but my mum says even if i dont work hard nothing will come. so i will make an effort to stay awake during physics (ive never lasted a whole lesson sorry mrs chua!) and hope to see results=)
oh and i need to read more. this year i havent read much at all. i need to broaden my mind=D
okay enough reflecting come back to the present.
for now im in a state of .. um mistiness? like floating around, not knowing what to do. holidays are ending and i have this huge pile of homework to finish off. shall start listing. they say lists are attempts made by man to create order out of chaos. yeah i guess so. oh and i need to start practicing piano and clearing my room. council camp is next monday. to be honest im scared. but i'll try my best. sigh this is ending on such a low note. but anyway i posted. but i dont really care if no one reads this. ugh. pmsing. !
